The 2025 Brazil nut harvest in the Amazon region was severely affected by extreme drought. Large nuts are hardly available and prices on the world market have risen dramatically. In order to secure supply and at the same time guarantee our Seeberger quality, we are unfortunately forced to double the prices of our Brazil nuts.
To help you better understand the situation, we would like to explain how our Brazil nut kernels are harvested: Brazil nut kernels grow exclusively in the wild in the rainforests of South America. In Bolivia, many local people depend on the Brazil nut harvest: they collect the fallen fruits, open them with machetes and carefully sort the kernels according to size and quality. This work plays a crucial role in ensuring that only the best nuts make it into our bags. However, when droughts dry up the rainforest and harvests are smaller, this hits the local people particularly hard and makes their work even more challenging. We have been working closely with our partners for years to ensure the special quality of our Brazil nuts while treating people and nature responsibly.
If you find the price of Brazil nut kernels too expensive, we understand. Why not try our almonds or cashews instead – both are delicious, we promise!
